laservision – Razor-sharp protection
The modern development of laser technology and the growing use of laser beams in the medical-technical and physical fields necessitated the development of appropriate, high-quality protective eyewear at the end of the 1980s. In partnership with the optics company Rupp und Hubrach, a joint subsidiary was founded in Forchheim, Germany, in 1987 under the name LaserVision GmbH, specialising in the manufacture and marketing of laser safety goggles. In 2004, laservision was fully integrated into the uvex safety group and has since been a wholly owned subsidiary of the uvex group. This integration represented a strategic expansion of the uvex portfolio in the field of personal protective equipment (PPE), particularly in laser protection. Two years later, a majority stake in the US company Trinity Technologies was acquired. The acquisition made laservision the market leader in laser protection at that time.
