1945 - 1948
Pioneering spirit of the post-war years
Although production continued throughout the war and, fortunately, the factory buildings on Salzstraße survived the numerous nights of bombing almost unscathed, the early post-war years required a great deal of pioneering spirit. The shortage of raw materials and high demand for general consumer goods prompted Philipp M. Winter to convert production. In addition to wooden products such as clothes hangers and cooking spoons, braces were now made from spectacle headbands, for example. Only the production of optical spectacles remained unchanged.
The difficult post-war years were thus mastered with pioneering spirit, product imagination and commitment.
By the end of the 1940s, Salzstraße had a considerable fleet of three motor vehicles and three ‘company bicycles’.
