uvex respiratory protection masks
When harmful substances are inhaled, the respiratory tract and the entire body can be damaged. The consequences, which are usually irreversible, are often only recognised at a late stage. This is why respiratory protection against airborne and environmental toxins in the workplace is particularly important.
uvex respiratory protection masks are characterised by highly functional filter materials that guarantee a high level of protection while ensuring comfortable breathing. In addition, they are compatible with uvex protective eyewear.
In-house production of uvex respiratory protection masks in France during the Covid years
In order to reliably meet the sharply increased demand for respiratory protection masks during the Covid pandemic, the uvex safety group, together with its partner Fackelmann, started its own production of FFP2 masks in Europe. In Bussang in the Vosges mountains in France, a modern production line was set up within just a few months and began operations in December 2020.
By producing in France – using German plant technology and German filter material – uvex became more independent of global supply chains, which had previously been interrupted several times due to the global situation. Production in the double-digit million range not only strengthened security of supply, but also sustainability through short transport routes.
The first model to be produced was the uvex silv‑Air lite FFP2 folding mask, which impressed with its high wearing comfort, an optimised fit and particularly good sealing in the nose area. Independent tests confirmed its high level of protection combined with low breathing resistance.
The uvex silv‑Air series is one of the most important respiratory protection lines from uvex and offers a wide selection of FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 masks for a wide range of working environments. The masks reliably filter particles, droplets, dust, smoke and aerosols from the ambient air and comply with the European standard DIN EN 149. Depending on requirements, both folding masks and shaped masks are available – optionally with or without an exhalation valve. Thanks to their well-designed filter layers, low breathing resistance and high wearing comfort, the silv‑Air models are also suitable for longer periods of use and therefore form a core part of the uvex respiratory protection programme.
The uvex silv‑Air premium models are specifically developed for situations in which respiratory protection must function particularly reliably over long periods. They combine maximum filter performance in the protection classes FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3.
Innovative filter technologies and optimised mask geometries significantly reduce breathing resistance without impairing the protective performance. In addition, ergonomic fits, soft sealing lips and flexible materials ensure a secure fit and high wearing comfort.
With plastic components made from recyclate, uvex safety is setting a strong example across its entire respiratory protection portfolio. They combine reliable filter performance with a reduced ecological footprint – through the use of sustainable components and optimized manufacturing processes.
