Prescription sports glasses: speed, flying dirt and stones, swarms of insects, changing light conditions – every athlete knows how important good, sharp vision is. But what if you have impaired vision and wear glasses?
In January 2016, uvex launched its first collection of sports glasses which were specifically designed to be fitted with prescription lenses. This means that amateur and professional athletes with impaired vision can now also be equipped with an customised uvex sports glasses. This has closed a long-standing gap in the product portfolio. Combining the expertise of uvex sports and uvex safety in a joint project team together with our prescription lens manufacturers has resulted in a novel collection that unites high safety standards with the greatest possible range of optical customisation and state-of-the-art design.
Tinting and anti-reflective coating are standard, whilst various filters, polarisation and/or mirror coatings are available as optional features. For models with prescription inserts, a revolutionary magnetic technology was developed and filed for patent under the name “uvex clipnetic”.
