Mobile branches – Taking the truck to the customer
The unique service system from uvex in occupational safety met with great approval: mobile branches served customers throughout Germany. Thus, the field service employee did not drive to the customer by car, but with the 7.5‑ton truck. Inside were the latest occupational safety products, which could be tried on and purchased directly on site.
At the end of the 1980s, uvex safety began a cooperation with the Hamburg distribution company Oyster, which had developed a forward‑looking and strongly customer‑oriented sales concept: mobile branches in trucks specially converted for this purpose. The so‑called MOFs were equipped with the most important occupational safety products and drove directly to the customers’ companies. In 2001, 14 mobile branches served uvex customers throughout Germany. This service system was unique within the industry and, with its individual service, helped to reduce customers’ occupational safety costs.
