September 2021 marked the start of the construction of the new, modern and sustainably designed logistics and service centre in Rednitzhembach. Over a construction period of two and a half years, a state-of-the-art logistics centre was built on a 35,000-square-metre site, where, for the first time, the entire product range of the uvex group can be logistically managed under one roof.

The logistics centre has capacity for 30,000 pallet spaces and 287,000 container spaces. The energy required is generated by a wood chip plant that uses wood from sustainable forestry. The photovoltaic system on the roof of the logistics building covers more than 4,500 square metres and, at peak capacity, meets the entire energy requirements of the Rednitzhembach site.
These measures contributed to the logistics building being awarded the DGNB Gold certificate. This award from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) confirms that the building meets particularly high standards of sustainability and quality in the construction sector. The assessment takes into account ecological, economic and socio-cultural criteria throughout the building’s entire life cycle. The Gold certificate recognises the logistics building as being designed to be particularly future-proof, resource-efficient and sustainable.

Launch of the Logistik24 project
Symbolic ground-breaking ceremony
On 27 September 2021, the uvex group marked the start of construction of its modern and sustainably designed new logistics and service centre in Rednitzhembach with a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony. Initial work, including the laying of the foundation slab, took place in the first quarter of 2022.
Grand opening
Following a construction period of two and a half years, trial operations began in early July with the handling of initial partial shipments.The logistics centre commenced full-scale operations at the end of 2024. The staff from the previous logistics site in Schwabach relocated to the new building complex.

Integration of protective gloves
In June 2025, the next step was taken with the relocation of the glove warehouse from Lüneburg to Rednitzhembach. The uvex sports range has also already been moved to the new central warehouse.
Further steps are in the planning stage: ultimately, the entire uvex group product range will be able to be managed logistically from a single location.
