The rapid economic growth in Southeast Asia in the early 1990s opened up an entirely new market for occupational safety products. To establish a presence in this emerging region, uvex acquired a stake in the Singapore‑based distribution company PDS in 1994. As a preferred supplier, the complete uvex occupational safety portfolio was distributed from the Singapore hub to almost all countries in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
In 2007, uvex safety Singapore was officially founded and has since developed into an innovative provider of protective equipment. Its business activities extend across regions from Northeast to Southeast Asia. uvex safety Singapore is supported by representative offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
